Our Values

It may come off as cheesy, but we have actually come up with a family motto. This format was recommended in a book that we read called The 3 Big Questions for a Frantic Family by Patrick Lencioni (a fabulous read, would recommend).
Family Motto:
We are a family
We are kind to persons, animals, and things
We are faithful to God and friends
We are diligent in fulfilling responsibility (to laugh as well as to work)
Our Dream
Purchase a piece of property and build a farm on it. A simple enough sentence, that conceals a rather disconcerting amount of complexity. I want to be able to grow food for my family. I want to be able to raise my children around animals. I want to be able to sit staring at the stars around a campfire listening the nighttime crickets.
I have been fascinated with the concept of farming and ‘homesteading’ for well over a decade and, like many in recent years, I started taking steps to eventually achieve that goal. I started learning how to make jam, bake sourdough, etc. I started listening to podcasts like Pioneering Today by Melissa K Norris and Homesteady by Aust and K.
It was in one of the videos put out by the latter of the two podcasts (consumed via YouTube), that I was introduced to a new application of the lesson ‘by small and simple things are great things brought to pass’. Up until that point, I had been gaining skills simply because I thought it COULD benefit me in the future. What if I turned that COULD into WOULD by starting a business?
And thus, Pegasus Food & Craft LLC was born.
Our Story
I (Brett ) have been dreaming about owning a farm for well over a decade now. I consider myself a voracious reader and have devoured many a text on gardening, animal husbandry, and overall craftiness. I have worked baling hay, as a landscaper, both as a rough and fine carpenter, and I currently work as a structural engineer. All with the goal of eventually being able to own a piece of property, build a house, and actually know how to take care of it all. I will be the primary cook and chocolatier.
My wife (Aimee) is a saint and puts up with my shenanigans. We met in a ballroom dance class in college and we have swept each other away ever since. She will be the primary crafter for this little venture of ours as she has spent many a year working on crochet and cross-stitch.
What are your dreams?
We want to build a community as much as we want to turn a profit. Take a look at our blog and join in on the conversations. We can help each other build our dreams!
